Redis
One managed Redis 7 per project for caches, sessions and queues.
Creating it
On the project's Data tab, or arrah redis create my-api. After the next deployment the application has REDIS_URL, and REDIS_HOST, REDIS_PORT and REDIS_PASSWORD.
How it behaves
- It is reachable only from the project's own application, services and jobs.
- Data is written to disk, so a restart or a sleep does not empty it.
- It holds 128 MB. When it is full, writes fail rather than old keys being dropped — a queue must refuse work, not lose it. Set expiries on cache keys.
- It sleeps and wakes with the application.
- A branch environment gets its own, empty one.
A snapshot is taken once a day and can be restored. See Backups and restore.
